Boiler Replacement in All Buildings at Schonowee Village

The Schenectady Municipal Housing Authority of the City of Schenectady, New York, hereinafter referred to as the “Authority”, will receive sealed bids for the project known as Boiler Replacement in All Buildings at Schonowee Village, at the Authority’s Construction Office located in Building 9, Millard Street, Schonowee Village, Schenectady, New York until August 17, 2010 at 10:00 A.M., at which time they will be publicly read aloud.

Contract Documents may be obtained at the Schenectady Municipal Housing Authority Construction Office, Building 9, Schonowee Village, Schenectady, New York, beginning after Wednesday, July 21, 2010, 1 P.M. and continue to be available between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 3:30 P.M., Monday through Friday. (The office is closed for lunch between 12 and 1:00 P.M.)

Deposit is $50.00 for each set of contract documents. Deposits are refundable to all those who submit bids to the Authority and return contract documents in good condition no later than twenty (20) calendar days after the bid date. Refunds are also made to all non-bidders provided contract documents are returned prior to the bid opening.

The bids are to be submitted in DUPLICATE and are to be submitted by personal delivery or registered mail, return receipt requested only to the “Authority” office.

Bid security in the form of a Certified Check, Bank Draft, Bid Bond, or Acceptable Letter of Credit in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total proposal is required. This amount supercedes amount in HUD Instructions to Bidders.

Non-mandatory walk-throughs, for contractors’ convenience, are scheduled for July 29, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. and August 10, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. The meetings are to be held at the construction office located at Schonowee Village. We will not backtrack for contractors who arrive late. Contact Steve Dermentzis at
518-386-7022 if you need directions to the meeting place. NO OTHER ACCESS TO THE BUILDINGS WILL BE ALLOWED.

The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding.

Attention is called to the provision for equal employment opportunity and payment of not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Specifications.

The Owner is exempt from payment of Federal, State and Local taxes on all materials and supplies sold to the Owner pursuant to this contract and are not to be included in bids. The Owner shall supply the Contractor with copies of the Owner’s Certificate of Exemption for New York State Sales Tax. (Section 1116A1 of the NYS Tax Law).

No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the opening of bids without the consent of the Schenectady Municipal Housing Authority.

Engineering Proposals for the Capital Fund Program

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL The Schenectady Municipal Housing Authority is soliciting Engineering Proposals for the Capital Fund Program. The term of the contract will be for two years with three (3) one year options.

 Interested Engineering firms should submit a letter of intent to be received by August 31, 2010 to the SMHA Executive Director. Formal Proposals will be due in triplicate on October 14, 2010 by 3:00 p.m.
