Applications for Section 8 are not available.
The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program is available to very low income individuals and families. Rents are subsidized according to income rules and regulations established by the U.S. Department of Housing & Development. The tenant pays about 30% of gross income (certain Federal allowances can be deducted) towards rent and the subsidy makes up the difference. Very low income is defined as a family whose annual income is equal or below 50% of the area medium income.
Due to the large number of people on our wait list, applications are NOT being accepted at this time. When it is time reopen the wait list for new applications, announcements will be well published through this website, local newspapers, and notice to local human service agencies.
